Amaravati, Nov 2 (NationPress) Three intermediate students tragically lost their lives while swimming at a beach in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, on Sunday, according to police reports.

A day of enjoyment for three friends ended in heartbreak at Mypadu beach in Indukurupet mandal.

The victims, all second-year intermediate students (Class 12) from a local college in Nellore, were caught in strong currents while bathing.

Despite local fishermen's attempts to rescue them, the boys had already drowned.

The bodies were later retrieved and sent to the Government Hospital for autopsy.

The deceased were identified as Pathan Humayun, Sameed, and Pathan Mohammad Tazeem, all aged 17.

Local authorities reported that the youths entered the water despite warnings from beachgoers.

Residents noted that the sea remains turbulent due to the recent impact of cyclone Montha, which affected the Andhra Pradesh coastline last week.

In another incident, a couple lost their lives, and three others sustained injuries in a road accident at Bibinagar, near Hyderabad, on the same day.

A speeding vehicle veered off course and collided with a parked two-wheeler.

Police disclosed that Prashanth (33) and his wife Prasuna (32) had stopped to take a phone call when the accident occurred.

Prashanth was killed instantly, while Prasuna was thrown into a nearby pond and subsequently drowned. Rescue teams later retrieved her body.

The couple resided in Bhongir town and were en route to Warangal. They had been married for three years.

The bodies were also sent to a government hospital for post-mortem examinations.

The driver of the car, Shamukha (20), along with his friends Bhargava and Sairitu (both 18), sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the government hospital in Bhongir.

Police reported that the vehicle was being driven recklessly and the trio was on their way to Yadagirigutta Temple from Hyderabad.

A police investigation has been initiated into the incidents.
