Jaipur, Jan 21 (NationPress) In a tragic incident of reckless driving, an 18-year-old girl, Anaya Sharma, lost her life in a hit-and-run accident after being struck by a speeding Thar SUV on the expressway on Wednesday.

The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene, igniting a wave of anger among the public.

Anaya, originally from Jhunjhunu, was residing in Jaipur with her sister while preparing for the Indian Air Force physical examination.

As part of her training, she jogged every morning. On that fateful Wednesday, while running on the Shanti Bagh stretch of the expressway alongside her sister, a black Thar SUV hit her from behind.

She suffered severe injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead despite medical efforts.

Following the incident, the driver panicked and fled, subsequently crashing into another vehicle further along the road. The driver later abandoned the Thar SUV near Dadi ka Phatak and escaped on foot.
