Bhubaneswar, June 3 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking incident, four labourers tragically lost their lives due to suffocation while working on the construction of a septic tank in Padalguda village, located in the Nandahandi block of Nabarangpur district in Odisha on Tuesday morning.

The district is engulfed in sorrow following the unexpected deaths of these four individuals. The victims, identified as N Santu (33), Amir Khara (31), Lalu Rana (32), and Trilochana Bhatra (30), were all residents of the same block in Nabarangpur.

According to local reports, the labourers had arrived at the home of one Mohan Nag in Padalguda village to clear debris and water from an under-construction septic tank. During this task, Bhatra and Rana entered the tank but failed to emerge after several minutes.

In a desperate attempt to rescue them, Santu and Khara also entered the tank, becoming trapped themselves. Emergency responders, including local police and fire services, arrived on the scene to rescue the critically injured workers. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The bodies were subsequently handed over to their families following a post-mortem examination.
