Tributes Flow for Pranab Mukherjee on His Birth Anniversary: A True Statesman

New Delhi, Dec 11 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to the former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, on his birth anniversary, referring to him as a statesman par excellence.
Mukherjee, born on December 11, 1935, held the position of India's 13th President from 2012 to 2017. A recipient of the Bharat Ratna award, he passed away on August 31, 2020, in Delhi.
In a post on X, PM Modi expressed, "Remembering Shri Pranab Mukherjee on his birth anniversary. Pranab Babu was an unparalleled public figure - a statesman par excellence, an excellent administrator, and a wealth of wisdom."
"His contributions to India's progress are significant. He possessed a remarkable capability to foster consensus across various sectors owing to his extensive experience in governance and a deep comprehension of India's culture and ethos. We will persist in our efforts to fulfill his vision for our country," he added.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Mukherjee's influence on India's governance, tweeting, "Paying tribute to former President of India Pranab Mukherjee Ji on his birth anniversary. A statesman par excellence, Pranabda made a substantial impact on national administration. As President, he enriched the highest office with his extensive public life experience, creating a new role for it as the people's office. His lasting legacy will continue to guide our nation eternally."
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi also paid his respects, stating, "Remembering the former President of India, Bharat Ratna Shri Pranab Mukherjee, on his birth anniversary. A modest tribute to his unwavering service."
The Congress party, where Mukherjee was a significant figure for decades, recognized his essential contributions to India's advancement.
"Our humble tribute to Pranab Mukherjee, the former President of India and a visionary leader. Celebrated as a principal architect of India's economic reforms, his outstanding service in various ministerial capacities greatly aided the nation's progress," the party shared on X.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized Mukherjee's contributions over five decades to national life and the Congress party, saying, "We acknowledge the role of Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, in nation-building. A crucial figure in national life and the Congress party for over five decades, he brought his wisdom, experience, and deep understanding of diverse topics to every Constitutional position he held."
Pranab Mukherjee's career encompassed decades of dedication to the nation, occupying critical roles such as Finance Minister, External Affairs Minister, and eventually, President. His presidency was characterized by a commitment to uphold constitutional principles while serving as a bridge between the government and the populace.
