Key Takeaways
Kolkata, Jan 4 (NationPress) The leadership of the All India Trinamool Congress has commenced the distribution of 'Unnayoner Panchali', a detailed report card showcasing the state government's achievements over the past 15 years, to notable figures throughout West Bengal as part of their Banglar Samarthane Sanjog outreach initiative.
State Minister Shashi Panja and party MP Sharmila Sarkar presented this report card along with a letter from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to Professor Dr Manimoy Bandyopadhyay, the Director of IPGMER and SSKM Hospital, acknowledging his contributions to the transformation of public healthcare in West Bengal.
In another engagement, Trinamool Congress MP Nadimul Haque met renowned music composer Indraadip Dasgupta and gifted him the Unnayoner Panchali box along with the Chief Minister's letter, underscoring Bengal's significant changes over the last decade and a half.
As reported, the Trinamool leadership aims to connect with approximately 200 influential personalities from diverse sectors including arts, cinema, sports, and academia in anticipation of the upcoming state Assembly elections.
In a statement to IANS, Trinamool Congress spokesperson Arup Chakraborty emphasized that the West Bengal government, under the Trinamool Congress, prioritizes transparency and is committed to showcasing its governance through this report card.
"The Mamata Banerjee administration has achieved remarkable milestones for the populace. We are proud to present a report card to the public, setting us apart from other parties. This initiative aims to highlight the effective governance of the West Bengal government and illustrate how government schemes have positively impacted citizens' lives," Chakraborty stated.
The Trinamool Congress leader further described Unnayoner Panchali as akin to a white paper released by the state government.
"We have observed instances where BJP leaders have reacted inappropriately towards reporters asking valid questions. In contrast, we engage openly with journalists and respond to their inquiries. The BJP and central government tend to obscure the truth and evade accountability, while TMC confronts the public with honesty and full transparency," Chakraborty added.
