Kolkata, Sep 2 (NationPress) Just a day after the Indian Army personnel dismantled the Trinamool Congress's stage on Mayo Road, the party quickly set up a new stage at Dorina Crossing in the Esplanade area of Central Kolkata to persist with its protest against the mistreatment of Bengali migrant workers in regions governed by the BJP.

On Tuesday, party members began constructing a new stage at Dorina Crossing, situated approximately 2 kilometers from the statue of Gandhi at Mayo Road, which served as the original site for Trinamool's protests.

Later, the Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC), the trade union wing of Trinamool, organized a protest meeting at this new location, condemning the BJP for attempting to halt the party's demonstrations aimed at protecting Bengali migrant workers.

In a statement shared on social media, the Trinamool Congress declared, "Our demonstrations and our language movement will not be hindered by conspiracies. The BJP aims to stifle the voice of Bengal by misusing the army as a political tool, and the dismantling of the dharna stage on Mayo Road will not extinguish our fight for the rights of Bengalis."

The party continued, "Every time the BJP insults and mistreats Bengal and its people, we will rise in protest. We will escalate our efforts. Following the guidance of our esteemed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a new stage has been established at Dorina Crossing to challenge language terrorism."

This development occurred shortly after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the BJP-led Central government of misusing the Indian Army to dismantle the Trinamool Congress's protest stage, which was set up to address the injustices faced by Bengali-speaking migrant workers in BJP-ruled areas.

She stated that protests would persist from this new location.

On Monday, the Indian Army initiated the dismantling of the TMC's stage located next to the Gandhi statue in the Maidan area of central Kolkata, which is under Army jurisdiction.

However, upon hearing the news, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee promptly arrived at the scene to oppose the Army’s actions.

Upon her arrival, the Indian Army personnel ceased their efforts to dismantle the stage and vacated the area.
