Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday, 13 June credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12-year leadership with elevating India into a global start-up powerhouse and extending development to the country's most marginalised communities. Saha made the remarks while addressing the media at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state headquarters in Krishnanagar, Agartala, as Modi marked a landmark tenure milestone.

A Record Tenure in Numbers

Saha described the occasion as a historic inflection point, noting that Modi had served as Prime Minister for 4,399 days — a figure he called a record that 'will be remembered in history.' 'Narendra Modi has completed an extraordinary journey of 12 years as the Prime Minister of India. This journey represents transformation, fulfilled aspirations and the building of a New India,' Saha said.

He added that the manner in which Modi had continuously governed for over a decade distinguished him from predecessors, arguing that his sustained commitment to public welfare had earned citizens' trust across the country.

Economic and Governance Milestones Cited

Saha pointed to several policy achievements under Modi's watch, including reforms in the banking sector, expansion of financial inclusion, and the emergence of India as one of the world's leading economies. He said multiple countries had entered into strategic partnerships with India during this period, and that financial discipline had been 'firmly established.'

'We have seen a government committed to transparency, accountability and innovation. The Prime Minister's guiding principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas reflects his commitment to building a developed India,' Saha said.

Start-Up India and the Digital Economy

Highlighting innovation as a defining pillar, Saha said flagship programmes such as Start-up India had created a robust ecosystem for young entrepreneurs, propelling the country into the ranks of the world's leading start-up hubs. He also cited India's rise in digital transactions as evidence of the country's growing footprint in the global digital economy.

'India has secured a prominent position in the digital economy and today ranks among the world's leading nations in digital transactions,' Saha said, adding that youth potential — including in sports — was being actively cultivated under Modi's leadership.

The media briefing was also attended by BJP Tripura state President Abhishek Debroy, party Vice-President Tapas Bhattacharya, and other senior party leaders. On behalf of the BJP's Tripura unit, Saha extended gratitude to citizens for their continued support of Modi's leadership.
