Kolkata, Jan 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, stated on Wednesday that the compilation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches should be made more accessible to the general public, emphasizing that this would serve society and motivate individuals.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the book focused on the Prime Minister would hold significant relevance for the populace.
Saha made these remarks during the launch of a special program featuring a collection of the Prime Minister’s speeches, which have been translated into Bengali and compiled for the first time at Syama Prasad Mukherjee Bhasha Bhavan, National Library, Kolkata.
“This book needs to be made more available to the average person. It will also benefit society. Readers will find inspiration within its pages. Having it compiled in Bengali enhances its value,” he stated.
Saha underscored the Tripura government’s initiatives aimed at advancing the state’s socio-economic landscape.
“Over the past decade, there has been remarkable growth in the GSDP. The rise in per capita income has also been considerable, all thanks to the Prime Minister’s Act East Policy. I visited Bengal before the last elections. Although we (BJP) did not achieve the desired outcomes, I am optimistic that changes will occur in West Bengal shortly,” he remarked.
He added that since assuming office in 2014, Modi has prioritized the development of the northeastern states.
The Tripura Chief Minister emphasized how PM Modi frequently addresses the advancement of the northeastern region.
“Visitors to Tripura a decade ago now ask, ‘Has Agartala transformed so significantly? Has Tripura really changed this much?’ Such progress, once considered improbable, has been made possible by our visionary Prime Minister. Presently, broad gauge rail services link Agartala with Sabroom, the southernmost district of Tripura,” he noted.
He pointed out that since the BJP established governance in Tripura (in 2018), there have been exceptional advancements in communication networks, internet services, railways, highways, and air travel.
“It remains uncertain if any other global leader has executed a program like the Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat. Through this initiative, our Prime Minister engages directly with the citizens of the nation. Thus, compiling the Mann Ki Baat program is equally significant,” he added.
