Agartala, April 11 (NationPress) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha revealed on Friday that to stimulate the state's economy, rubber farming will be extended to an additional 20,485 hectares of land, along with the establishment of 10 new rubber processing centers in the region.
During the inauguration of various development initiatives in Khowai district, the Chief Minister emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led administration is committed to serving the populace.
"The state government is persistently striving for the betterment of its citizens. Rubber cultivation will be expanded into 20,485 hectares of land in Tripura, and 10 new rubber processing centers will be established," expressed CM Saha.
Currently, Tripura is cultivating natural rubber over 97,171.93 hectares of land, making it the second-largest natural rubber producer in India after Kerala, with an annual output of 1,02,989 tonnes valued at Rs 1,620 crore.
On the same day, the Chief Minister inaugurated a newly built Teliamura motor stand and four educational institutions.
Furthermore, he inaugurated the new buildings of the Kalyanpur BDO Residence and Birchandrapur Higher Secondary School.
He also flagged off two blood collection transportation vans.
“I visited Dharmanagar (north Tripura) on Wednesday and inaugurated around 46 projects. Such initiatives are taking place almost daily. Residents from various areas are inquiring about my schedule, which indicates that we are advancing developmental projects throughout the state under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Since assuming power, our government has been dedicated to enhancing every sector. We are improving not just school buildings but also the academic environment of these institutions,” he stated.
CM Saha mentioned that efforts are underway to ensure students receive quality education.
The state government is actively addressing the teacher shortage. “Qualified educators are being recruited through the Teachers’ Recruitment Board, Tripura.”
The Chief Minister noted that over 16,000 government jobs have been created in the past seven years since the BJP took office.
“Our goal is to create even more employment opportunities; it’s just a matter of time. In alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision, the state government is dedicated to the welfare of its citizens. The government is focusing on all sectors, including education, health, and agriculture. We are also working to enhance people's skills,” stated CM Saha.
“Numerous promising projects have been incorporated into this year’s budget. The BJP-led government is a compassionate administration that has consistently demonstrated its commitment to the people,” concluded the Chief Minister.
