Faridabad, Dec 31 (NationPress) Two individuals have been taken into custody on allegations of gang-raping a woman for two hours in a moving van in Haryana's Faridabad. The police reported this development on Wednesday after the woman accepted a lift from the accused.
The incident transpired during the night between Monday and Tuesday. The woman, in search of a ride home, was approached by a van, where the two men enticed her inside under the pretense of helping her get home. However, they diverted the vehicle towards Gurgaon Road.
Upon expressing her discomfort, the woman faced physical violence. The accused proceeded to rape her for two hours before abandoning her near SGM Nagar and fleeing the scene. Subsequently, she was taken to a private hospital due to her injuries.
An FIR has been filed following a complaint from the victim's family, and authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to gather more evidence.
According to police spokesperson Yashpal Singh, the victim's sister reported that she had received a call from her at approximately 8:30 p.m. The victim had a disagreement with her mother and mentioned she would be visiting a friend's home.
She assured her sister that she would return within three hours. However, around midnight, when the victim was waiting for a ride, the accused offered her a lift, which she accepted.
After accepting the lift, the men drove towards Gurugram Road. One of the accused drove while the other assaulted the woman. They reportedly drove around for two hours on the Faridabad-Gurugram road.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., the accused discarded the victim from the moving van and escaped. She suffered facial and head injuries, requiring stitches.
Her family was alerted and rushed to the Civil Hospital in Faridabad, where she was initially treated. Due to her condition, doctors referred her to AIIMS Delhi, but she is currently receiving care at a private hospital in Faridabad.
The police have initiated an investigation and managed to apprehend both suspects, who are reportedly from Madhya Pradesh and residing in Faridabad.
