These educators will accept their awards from President Droupadi Murmu in Delhi on Teachers' Day (September 5).
Sheela Patel, a primary school teacher at the government primary school in Devaran Tapariya village in Damoh district, is one of the awardees. She has transformed learning into a joyful experience for children using play-based teaching techniques. Patel has effectively utilized the Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mission through engaging methods such as songs, poems, stories, and dramatization.
Additionally, she has organized special classes during school breaks to enhance women's literacy and has initiated summer and winter camps. In her community, she has established learning walls and collaborative learning spaces in various neighborhoods.
Furthermore, she has developed cost-free teaching materials to ignite students' interest in their studies and has actively encouraged group discussions and student involvement to bolster understanding, as reported by the Madhya Pradesh School Education Department.
The second award recipient, Bherulal Osara, teaches at a government secondary school in Kheria Susner village, located in the Agar-Malwa district. Osara is recognized for his profound subject knowledge and for nurturing ethics and creativity among his students.
He has made significant contributions to environmental conservation through initiatives like the Eco Club and Clap Club, educating students on cleanliness, water conservation, tree planting, plastic reduction, and sustainable living.
