New Delhi, March 31 (NationPress) Tragically, two children have died, and one person has been injured due to a fire ignited by an LPG cylinder explosion in the Manohar Park locality of Delhi.
The unfortunate event took place near Ashok Park Metro Station in Wazirpur around 8:20 PM on Sunday.
Following an emergency call, two fire tenders were sent to the site. The fire brigade team successfully managed to extinguish the flames, but three individuals suffered serious burns.
The victims were promptly transported to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed the deaths of the siblings, 12-year-old Sakshi and 9-year-old Akash.
Their mother, Savita, reported that while she was preparing a meal, clothing hanging near the kitchen caught fire. At that moment, her son and two daughters were present in the room.
While Savita and one of her daughters, Meenakshi, managed to escape unharmed, her elder daughter Sakshi and son Akash became trapped in the flames.
Upon her call for assistance, the landlord’s son and other tenants managed to rescue the two children. Unfortunately, both suffered extreme burns. They were taken to Acharya Bhikshu Hospital in Moti Nagar, where they were pronounced dead due to 100 percent burns.
The third victim, identified as Sandeep Pathak, suffered five percent burns and is currently receiving treatment.
According to law enforcement, the fire erupted after an explosion of an LPG cylinder stored within the household. Authorities are investigating the precise cause of the blast.

In another incident, a fire broke out at Makkar Multi-Specialty Hospital in Laxmi Nagar on Sunday night.
The fire affected beds and window air conditioning units on the ground floor of the three-story facility, but it was quickly brought under control after four fire tenders arrived. No injuries were reported in this case.
