Ujjain, March 9 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Police took action on Monday by filing a case against two unidentified individuals in the temple city of Ujjain, who reportedly ignited a firecracker that unleashed thick smoke and flames, causing immediate panic among those present.

The local administration hosted the Krishna Sudama Rangotsav as part of the lively Rangpanchami festivities celebrating the end of Holi on Sunday. A special stage was constructed at the Santram Sindhi Colony intersection to warmly receive Mohan Yadav, who engaged with the crowd amidst great enthusiasm.
As the welcoming activities were underway, and while the Chief Minister was being honored on stage, a large firecracker was set off just a few feet away, according to police reports. Thankfully, the Chief Minister had vacated the stage and left the area by that time.
In total, ten individuals sustained injuries, mainly burns, due to the incident. The injured included Ashish Dholpure from Mahavir Bagh, Raghuveer Singh Goyal from Fazalpura, Rajendra Bhatia from Avantipura, Devendra Chauhan from Vasant Vihar, Virendra Anjana, the BJP Mandal President of Jamalpura, Jitendra Kir from Mahalaxmi Nagar, Prashant Yadav, Gopal Jat, and two others whose names have not yet been disclosed.
Seven of the injured received care at a private hospital near Teen Batti Chauraha, while three with more severe injuries were transferred to hospitals in Indore for specialized treatment.
Following the event, Ujjain Collector Roshan Kumar Singh and Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma visited the injured at the hospital to assess their condition and provide assistance.
The Nilganga police promptly filed a case against unidentified suspects. Authorities are currently reviewing video evidence from the scene to identify the individual responsible for igniting the firecracker, and efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the suspect. Authorities have confirmed that stringent actions will be taken once the individual is found.
This incident has raised significant concerns regarding safety protocols and crowd management during public celebrations involving fireworks, especially in proximity to high-profile events.
