Lucknow, June 21 (NationPress) The government of Uttar Pradesh has taken a remarkable step to honor International Yoga Day by organizing unique sessions in old age homes, attracting thousands of elderly residents and students alike.

This initiative, led by the Department of Social Welfare, facilitated special yoga practices across all old age homes and Jayaprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health”, the event witnessed vibrant participation from elderly residents, students, and teachers, coming together for a collective yoga practice.

This initiative represents a pivotal advancement in empowering underprivileged sections of society by enhancing their health and mindfulness. More than 6,500 elderly residents engaged in yoga under professional guidance.

Krishna Prasad, Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Department, emphasized that Yoga Day is an essential step toward enhancing students' confidence, discipline, and health.

Currently, 100 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are operational, providing residential facilities, quality education, and free coaching for competitive exams like JEE and NEET.
