Lucknow, Sep 27 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked on Saturday that the state’s growth narrative appears “incredible for those lacking strength,” emphasizing that a new phase of peace and security has established the groundwork for swift progress.
The Chief Minister addressed the 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh Vision @ 2047' event in the state capital.
He announced an ambitious goal for the state: “By 2047, Uttar Pradesh will evolve into a $6 trillion economy. That year will symbolize the realization of our citizens' dreams and aspirations. A developed Uttar Pradesh is not merely our vision—it must become part of our everyday lives,” he stated.
Reflecting on the last eight-and-a-half years, Yogi pointed out his government’s strict stance against nepotism, casteism, and corruption.
“Uttar Pradesh was never fundamentally a BIMARU state. It was relegated to that status by nepotism, caste politics, and a detrimental mindset,” he expressed.
He attributed the state’s turnaround to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, faith in God, and the collective endeavors of the populace.
Referring to the CAG report, CM Yogi noted that UP’s revenue surplus, which was Rs 37,000 crore in 2023, has surged to Rs 70,000 crore.
“A state with such a vast population is executing development projects uninterruptedly,” he added.
Highlighting India’s geographical and agricultural advantages, Yogi mentioned that 60% of the nation’s land is suitable for cultivation and habitation—significantly higher than in Russia, China, or the United States, where only about 20% land is arable.
“While America is geographically larger, India has an equal amount of arable land. Our fertile soil and ancient heritage have made us a global leader,” he remarked.
Placing development in a historical context, he noted that India once held 40% of the global economy during Chandragupta Maurya’s reign, which gradually decreased to 30% in the 11th Century and 25% by the 17th Century.
He highlighted that British rule devastated India’s small and cottage industries and looted wealth amounting to $32 trillion.
“Foreign domination ravaged us, but we are now on the rise again. In 1947, India’s share of the global economy was merely 2%. By 2014, we had become the 11th largest economy; currently, we are the fourth, and this financial year, India will ascend to the status of the third-largest economy,” Yogi declared.
He asserted that India’s agricultural potential could triple. “We have laid the groundwork—now is the time to erect a robust structure,” he stated.
Looking toward the future, Yogi reiterated his bold vision: “By 2047, Uttar Pradesh will metamorphose into a $6 trillion economy. That year will symbolize the realization of our citizens' dreams and aspirations. A developed Uttar Pradesh is not just our goal—it must become part of our daily existence.”
During the event, he also conveyed his Navratri greetings, launched the book '8 Years of UP Government,' and compellingly shared the state’s success story.
