Jaipur, April 22 (NationPress) US Vice President J.D. Vance on Tuesday expressed his admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he and his family had an extraordinary encounter with PM Modi, experiencing his remarkable hospitality in New Delhi.

“My son, who is seven years old and our firstborn, shared something quite impressive after we had dinner at the Prime Minister's residence. He expressed, ‘Perhaps I could reside in India.’ He had such a delightful experience - PM Modi was exceptionally kind to our children. PM Modi graciously welcomed us to his beautiful home. We were truly astonished by his hospitality... and our kids took a liking to him,” Vance remarked while addressing the US-India relations event at RIC in Jaipur.

Further reflecting on his son's words, the US VP shared: “However, today, he suggested that we should move to England instead! The wonderful aspect of children is their brutal honesty. Our kids - aged 7, 5, and 3 - instantly liked PM Modi. I have a fondness for PM Modi as well. This lays a great foundation for our future relationship. I genuinely believe he is a serious leader who contemplates India's prosperity and security deeply.”

The US VP also described PM Modi as a ‘special person’.

“We had an incredible conversation when I first met him (PM Modi) at this year's AI Summit. What truly moved me was his ability to realize that our younger son was nearing his fifth birthday. He took the time to stand with him, wish him a happy birthday, and even presented him with a gift. We were sincerely touched by his graciousness,” Vance mentioned.

The US VP affirmed that he is not in India to ‘preach,’ stating, “Previous administrations were condescending, seeking India’s low-cost work but criticizing PM Modi, whose government is arguably the most popular in the democratic world. I admit, I’m a bit envious.”

Vance also referred to his wife, Usha, as a celebrity in India.

“My wife Usha is somewhat of a celebrity in India, far more than I am,” Vance joked.

J.D. Vance is on a four-day visit to India. He arrived in New Delhi on Monday and visited Akshardham Temple with his family.

Later, his family enjoyed dinner at PM Modi’s residence. He reached Jaipur around 10:30 PM.

On Tuesday, he visited Amber Palace and explored Jaipur’s rich heritage.
