New Delhi, April 21 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following his discussions with visiting US Vice President J.D. Vance on Monday, declared that the India-US strategic partnership is set to become a pivotal alliance of the 21st century.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister expressed, “It was a pleasure to receive US VP JD Vance and his family in New Delhi. We assessed the rapid advancements since my visit to the US and my meeting with President Trump. We are dedicated to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation across various domains, including trade, technology, defence, energy, and cultural exchanges.”
“The India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership will be a landmark collaboration of the 21st Century aimed at securing a brighter future for our citizens and the world,” he emphasized in his post.
Earlier, PM Modi and US Vice President J.D. Vance acknowledged the progress made in the India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement and their commitment to enhancing collaboration in diverse sectors, such as energy, defence, and strategic technologies.
The Prime Minister hosted the US Vice President, Second Lady Usha Vance, and their three children—Ewan, Vivek, and daughter Mirabel—at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence.
During their meeting, Prime Minister Modi reminisced about his successful trip to Washington D.C. in January and his discussions with US President Donald Trump.
In February, during their prior encounter on the sidelines of the AI Summit in Paris, Prime Minister Modi and Vance had deliberated on a variety of matters, further fortifying the strategic partnership between their nations.
On Monday, both leaders revisited their last meeting and assessed the advancements in bilateral relations, in addition to exchanging opinions on a range of regional and global issues of shared interest.
PM Modi also extended his regards to President Trump, expressing his anticipation for Trump's visit to India later this year.
This marks Vance's inaugural visit to India; along with discussions with PM Modi, the US Vice President and his entourage plan to engage in further activities in Jaipur and Agra before heading back to Washington on April 24.

This is the first visit to India by an American Vice President in 13 years; the most recent was Joe Biden, who visited India in 2013 while serving as Vice President under President Barack Obama.
