Uttar Pradesh CM Commends PM Modi for Recognizing Ram Temple Construction Workers

Mumbai (Maharashtra), Dec 15 (NationPress) In a tribute to the honor extended to the workforce under the Bharatiya Janata Party administration, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recognition of the laborers who contributed to the construction of the Ram Mandir in Agra.
During his address at the annual gathering of the World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) in Mumbai, the Chief Minister drew a stark contrast between the way the Ram Temple workers were celebrated and the historical treatment of those who built the Taj Mahal, whose hands, he noted, were chopped off.
He also criticized the Opposition for pursuing impeachment motions against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Allahabad High Court Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav, stating that “those who speak the truth” are threatened through such actions.
“Those who speak the truth, these individuals will pressurize him with impeachment (motions), yet they continue to claim adherence to the Constitution. Observe their hypocrisy,” said the Uttar Pradesh CM.
“An Allahabad High Court judge stated that a Uniform Civil Code should be implemented, and globally, the sentiments of the majority community are respected,” he continued.
He questioned the rationale behind penalizing individuals for expressing such views.
“Shouldn't a Uniform Civil Code exist in this nation? Globally, systems are governed by the majority community's preferences, and India is advocating for an end to discrimination between majority and minority groups. The Congress will apply pressure, as it is their longstanding practice of undermining the Constitution and manipulating the nation’s systems,” CM Adityanath alleged.
When addressing the impeachment notice against Vice-President Dhankhar for his purportedly biased role as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the BJP leader asserted that the Vice-President is fulfilling his responsibilities as the presiding officer.
“The Opposition is troubled by how a farmer's son attained this position. If a judge, as well as a citizen, presents the truth on social and cultural platforms, he is met with threats of impeachment,” CM Adityanath remarked.
Members from various opposition parties had submitted a notice for the impeachment of Allahabad High Court Judge Shekhar Kumar Yadav following his contentious remarks at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event on December 8.
The Supreme Court has requested clarification regarding the controversy from the Allahabad High Court.
“You would have observed how on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored the workers who built the Ram Mandir. On one side, the PM was showering them with flowers, while on the other, the workers who constructed the Taj Mahal faced brutal consequences,” CM Yogi noted in his speech on Saturday.
He further mentioned that laborers in the fine cloth industry historically faced similar fates, leading to the destruction of an entire tradition.
“Today, India values its workforce and provides them with various protections. In contrast, there were rulers who resorted to mutilating laborers and obliterating the heritage of fine cloth,” stated the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
Discussing India's historical economic influence from the first to the fifteenth century, CM Yogi Adityanath remarked, “From the first century to the 15th century, even European scholars acknowledge that India's contribution to the global economy exceeded 40 percent during that period, consistently until the 15th century.”
The World Hindu Economic Forum commenced on December 13 and will conclude on December 15 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
In his concluding remarks, the Uttar Pradesh CM praised Prime Minister Modi for guiding India out of its “identity crisis.”
“Today, those who promote and support terrorism... these individuals attempt to claim our heritage despite their absence when it thrived, even before their existence,” he emphasized.
He added, “Before 2014, India was engulfed in an identity crisis... We owe our gratitude to the esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who over the past decade has liberated India from oppressive rigidities and presented us with the vision of a ‘New India’.”
