Davos, Jan 22 (NationPress) Minister of Railways, Electronics & IT Ashwini Vaishnaw has emphasized the vision for a New India characterized by its transformative rail projects and sustainable infrastructure development during discussions with global industry leaders at the World Economic Forum 2025.

“With Prime Minister Narendra Modi setting benchmarks for India’s initiatives against global standards… There is considerable interest worldwide in our made-in-India products,” remarked Vaishnaw, who leads the Indian delegation, following a dinner organized by the WEF Board of Trustees.

The interactions at WEF 2025 illustrate India’s proactive strategy to adopt global best practices and technologies aimed at achieving both economic growth and sustainable development, the minister noted.

Vaishnaw has engaged in discussions to strengthen collaborations with global industry leaders as part of the vision to position India as a global manufacturing hub.

These conversations highlighted India's dedication to enhancing international partnerships and integrating innovative technologies within the railway sector.

Prior to arriving in Davos, the minister attended a presentation by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in Zurich, where cutting-edge advancements in infrastructure diagnostics were presented. Vaishnaw collaborated with Swiss professionals to explore state-of-the-art technologies that can enhance operational efficiency and safety in the Indian Railways.

Subsequently, he met with prominent railway sector SMEs, including Rhomberg Sersa Ag, Selectron, Ucentrics, Autech, and nu Glass. These discussions centered around potential partnerships and technology transfers, focusing on smart railway solutions and sustainable manufacturing practices.

A notable moment was a meeting with Stadler Rail Management and a tour of their advanced manufacturing facility in St. Margrethen. Stadler Rail’s specialization in double-decker multiple-unit trains aligns perfectly with India’s goals to modernize and broaden its passenger rail fleet.

“The exchange of insights during this visit harmonized with India’s ambitions to incorporate world-class manufacturing techniques and advanced engineering into its domestic rail production,” a senior official commented.

As a global leader and a voice for the Global South, India is perceived as embodying the principles of unity and collective advancement.

The India Pavilion at Davos has received accolades for its innovative design and theme. With a focus on advancing AI and frontier technologies, bolstering renewable energy capacities, and nurturing global partnerships, India's progress resonates with WEF 2025's theme: 'Collaboration for the Intelligent Age.' Additionally, India aims to strengthen its economic ties globally, the official stated.

In line with the WEF 2025 focus, India is leading efforts to explore solutions across five key workstreams: reimagining growth; industries in the intelligent age; investing in people; safeguarding the planet; and rebuilding trust.

Six Indian states, including Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh, are also participating in the Davos meetings.
