Jammu, March 30 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, stated on Monday that Vande Mataram embodies the essence, resilience, and pledge of the nation.

“Vande Mataram represents our identity, strength, and commitment. It transcends mere words, becoming a significant experience interwoven with our civilization. Events celebrating the singing of Vande Mataram bring back the memories of our immortal heroes, honoring their sacrifices while renewing our dedication to the glory of India,” remarked the J&K L-G.

He urged all segments of society to unite in the vision of transforming India into the world’s greatest nation.

“We must come together to make this dream a reality. When every resident of J&K commits to fostering a developed India, I believe this collective spirit will become an unstoppable force,” he added.

Manoj Sinha delivered these remarks at the closing ceremony of the Special Phase commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram, held at Abhinav Theatre in Jammu.

This Special Phase took place from March 23 to March 30, 2026, honoring Shaheedi Diwas and celebrating the great martyrs of the freedom struggle, whose sacrifices were instrumental in India’s quest for independence.

He highlighted that the enthusiasm and dedication towards Vande Mataram in Jammu and Kashmir signify the region's transition from its troubled past to embracing the ideals cultivated in recent years.

“Under the wise leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Jammu and Kashmir has been integrated into the national narrative, achieving new milestones in development and showcasing deep-rooted patriotism through pivotal initiatives like Vande Mataram and Har Ghar Tiranga,” stated the J&K L-G.

During the earlier phases of the Vande Mataram @150 years commemorative event, the nation witnessed Jammu and Kashmir’s remarkable contributions.

In the initial phase (November 7–14, 2025), nine of the top ten performing districts were from J&K, with Kishtwar leading the way.

In the subsequent phase (January 19–26, 2026), six districts from Jammu and Kashmir, headed by Poonch, excelled.

The J&K L-G expressed that the significant public participation in these previous phases and the embrace of Vande Mataram’s values indicate a transformative potential for the future.

“I firmly believe that the greatest strength of a region lies in its ability to visualize its future. In Jammu and Kashmir, I am witnessing that potential thrive. It is crucial to spread the message that genuine patriotism is the foundation of peace and progress,” he stated.

He emphasized that Vande Mataram symbolizes the aspirations, goals, and resolve that generations have fought for, and this special week-long phase provides a moment to reflect on the intersection of history and ambition, honoring the sacrifices that have led to our current freedom, unity, and pride.

“Vande Mataram inspires us to respect our past, empower our present, and commit to a brighter future. This was a J&K-level reflection, revitalizing our cultural roots through public engagement and involving every citizen in nation-building,” concluded the J&K L-G.

He noted that the past decade has seen global instabilities and crises from Ukraine to West Asia, yet under the capable leadership and guidance of PM Modi, India has emerged resilient, maintaining its status as the world’s fastest-growing major economy.

“The Hon’ble Prime Minister works tirelessly for the welfare of the nation. Let us derive strength from his determination and march forward together towards a robust, prosperous India,” he remarked.

The J&K L-G also urged political parties, civil society, and all societal segments to participate in combating drug abuse and turn the Nasha Mukt campaign into a widespread movement in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, he paid homage to the great freedom fighters and visited a photo exhibition showcasing their historic contributions.
