Varun Dhawan Discusses His Character in the Upcoming Film 'Baby John'

Jaipur, Dec 13 (NationPress) Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, renowned for his romantic hero persona, has disclosed that his upcoming film 'Baby John' is centered on the profound transformation of a father characterized by an innocent face when compelled to confront dire situations - a scenario that is expected to evoke memories of the serious character he portrayed in the critically acclaimed revenge drama 'Badlapur' alongside Nawazuddin Siddique.

The actor shared with IANS that 'Baby John' delves into the theme of women's safety and portrays how an innocent father is driven to desperate measures to ensure the safety of his daughter.

"I was chosen for this role due to my innocent face, which effectively illustrates the journey of a father pushed to his limits," Dhawan remarked to IANS.

Reflecting on real-world incidents such as the Nirbhaya case, Dhawan conveyed that these themes are intricately woven into the film's storyline. He highlighted one of his impactful lines, “Haath laga ke bata mere beti ko” (Just try to harm my daughter), which he noted came straight from his heart and received approval in a single take.

On a personal note, Dhawan shared a significant milestone in his life.

"Today marks a special occasion for me as my six-month-old daughter, Lara, tasted solid food for the first time. Although I missed it since I'm in Jaipur, my wife sent me a video," he expressed.

In pondering the essence of fatherhood, Dhawan humorously suggested a new term for paternal affection: “We’ve all heard of mamta (mother’s love); this is baapta (father’s love).”

Varun Dhawan married his childhood companion Natasha Dalal in January 2021, and the couple welcomed their daughter Lara on June 3, 2024.

In other news, 'Baby John' is scheduled for release this Christmas.

Dhawan also addressed the recent arrest of Allu Arjun in Hyderabad, stating, “An actor is not responsible for implementing safety protocols and cannot be solely blamed for an unfortunate incident.”

His comments followed the arrest of Telugu superstar Allu Arjun in connection with a tragic occurrence at a promotional event for his latest film.

Arjun was taken into custody under strict security from his home and was escorted to Chikkadpally police station. This incident occurred on December 4 and resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman, with her eight-year-old son currently hospitalized. A massive crowd of fans had gathered at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad to see the actor.
