Synopsis
Key Takeaways
On March 17 in New Delhi, BJP leader Varun Gandhi had the honor of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside his family, describing the experience as a significant privilege. He expressed that this encounter reinforced his belief that the Prime Minister acts as a "true guardian" of the nation and its citizens.
Following the meeting, Varun Gandhi took to social media platform X to share his appreciation for the opportunity to seek the Prime Minister's guidance. He remarked, "I had the privilege of meeting the revered Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji along with my family and receiving his blessings and guidance."
He further lauded PM Modi’s character and leadership qualities, stating, "Your aura exudes a wonderful paternal affection and a sense of protection."
Varun Gandhi emphasized, "This meeting further solidifies my belief that you are the true guardian of the nation and its people."
Coming from the notable Nehru–Gandhi lineage, Varun Gandhi is the son of Maneka Gandhi and the late Sanjay Gandhi, who was the younger son of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Throughout his political journey, Varun Gandhi has made a name for himself within the BJP, serving three terms as a Member of Parliament for the Pilibhit constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Maneka Gandhi transitioned to the BJP following a turbulent political and personal split with the Indian National Congress after Sanjay Gandhi's tragic death in an air crash in 1980. Eventually, she formally joined the BJP in 2004 along with her son, Varun Gandhi, aiming to advance her political career and take on ministerial roles.
At that time, he articulated his rationale for joining the BJP, asserting, "I believe that aligning with and strengthening the BJP is in the nation's best interest, hence my decision to do so."
Varun Gandhi subsequently advanced through the ranks, and in 2012, he was appointed as the General Secretary of the BJP.
