Mangaluru, Aug 29 (NationPress) Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of the esteemed Dharmasthala temple and BJP Rajya Sabha Member, has called for tranquility among devotees in response to the recent incidents surrounding the alleged mass grave case.
While addressing the community in Dharmasthala on Friday, Heggade remarked, "The recent circumstances have caused significant distress, particularly among women. They are willing to take drastic measures, yet such actions are unnecessary. We have entrusted everything to Lord Manjunatha. I have always adhered to the truth and will continue to do so. It is imperative that everyone uphold peace and patience."
Expressing gratitude towards the Jain seers who came to Dharmasthala to show support for the temple administration and denounce the ongoing misinformation, Heggade noted that their presence has invigorated the pilgrimage site.
"Given that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently investigating, I must refrain from extensive comments. However, many devotees have conveyed their distress. Since the onset of these incidents aimed at the Dharmasthala temple, they have reported feeling a profound sense of grief and unease. Numerous individuals have mentioned their readiness to take strong actions," he added.
"Women in particular are eager to initiate protests. Yet, such measures are unwarranted. Our faith in Lord Manjunatha has yielded positive outcomes, as evidenced by the recent arrest of the masked individual, Chinnaiah.
"Truth is singular; it knows no divisions. Regardless of faith, true devotees must submit to it. Failure to do so questions their authenticity. Every action I undertake is inspired and blessed by the divine. We have never deviated from the path of truth, and we will continue to do so. I urge all devotees to maintain peace. Even seers from Tamil Nadu have come to show their backing. A single gesture from them can mobilize thousands. However, patience is essential," he remarked.
In the meantime, Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji of the notable Suttur Math in Mysuru has penned an open letter concerning Dharmasthala, expressing hope that the clouds of conflict dissipate, paving the way for peace and harmony.
This esteemed Lingayat seer has lauded the actions and efforts of Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade.
"Sree Kshetra Dharmasthala has initiated the collection and display of ancient temple artifacts, memorabilia, and manuscripts. Through various organizations, they have been providing economic security to rural women," the Suttur seer stated.
"Since 1972, the mass marriage initiatives have alleviated the financial burdens placed on ordinary families by extravagant wedding ceremonies - a truly admirable endeavor. While such a sacred institution may have its flaws, hastily linking these incidents to its reputation is both premature and reckless," the Suttur seer concluded.
