Mahakumbh Nagar, Feb 7 (NationPress) The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has raised alarms regarding the declining growth rate of the Hindu population, insisting that each family should aim for two to three children. On Friday, VHP's joint general secretary, Dr. Surendra Jain, pointed out that numerous scientific studies affirm that a child’s overall development is best supported when families have two or three children.

VHP’s publicity chief, Vijay Shankar Tiwari, voiced concerns over the slumping Hindu population growth rate, the prevalence of live-in relationships, moral decay, and escalating addiction problems.

These critical issues were underscored in a resolution that emerged during the second session of the VHP’s ‘Kendriya Pranayasi Mandal’ meeting held on Friday.

The resolution emphasized that the declining Hindu population rate, fragmentation of Hindu families, live-in relationships, and the growing trend of substance abuse among youth are pressing issues.

The proposal further declared that these matters pose significant challenges for Hindu society, urging youth to take proactive steps to confront them.

While addressing journalists in Prayagraj, Dr. Jain remarked that Hindu youth have historically risen to meet every challenge facing the nation.

The population imbalance is proving to be a threat to the survival of Hindu society, he added.

"The dwindling Hindu population is generating a multi-faceted impact. Hindus represent the identity of this nation. Should the Hindu population continue to fall, the very essence and existence of the country will be endangered. To avert this, Hindu youth must take the initiative," he stated.

He also pointed out that delayed marriages, fueled by misconceptions about future prosperity, have resulted in fewer children among Hindu couples.

The VHP is advocating for marriage at the age of 25, emphasizing that this has become crucial.

Dr. Jain elaborated that various scientific studies confirm the necessity of families having two or three children for optimal child development.

The proposal also highlighted that the erosion of Hindu values poses a threat to the fundamental structure of the family.

The rising influence of Western materialism, urban Naxal agendas, global corporate entities, and entertainment media are confusing and desensitizing the youth, contributing to the rise in extramarital and live-in relationships.

VHP leaders also expressed alarm over the increasing trend of substance abuse among young people. With over 160 million individuals battling addiction, the severity of the problem is evident.

The VHP has urged the youth to reconnect with their roots to foster a fulfilling family life and provide social and emotional security for children and the elderly.

It has encouraged the youth to distance themselves from the self-destructive habit of substance abuse and to collaborate with organizations such as Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini, and others to ensure their educational institutions, cities, and states become drug-free.

The VHP has also called upon various governments to take stringent action against drug cartels and terror connections associated with the drug trade, enforcing strict regulations to eradicate this issue entirely.
