Chennai, Jan 27 (NationPress) The Tamil cinema icon-turned-politician Vijay’s political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is gearing up to hold a comprehensive four-day meeting for its party functionaries. This significant event is scheduled to commence at the party headquarters in Panaiyur starting Monday (January 27).

Leading the proceedings will be TVK’s state general secretary and former Puducherry MLA, Bussy Anand.

This assembly comes after TVK’s announcement on Friday regarding the appointment of district secretaries and other key office bearers across 19 districts in Tamil Nadu, which encompasses places like Coimbatore, Salem, and Erode.

According to party insiders, these initiatives are strategically aligned with the preparations for the forthcoming 2026 Assembly elections.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Vijay disclosed that TVK has segmented Tamil Nadu’s 234 Assembly constituencies into 120 party districts.

This restructuring is intended to enhance the party’s organization, facilitate administrative ease, and speed up decision-making processes.

During the inaugural rally of TVK on October 27 in Villupuram, Vijay articulated the party’s ideology, which intertwines Dravidian principles with Tamil nationalism.

The rally, which took place in Vikkaravandi, attracted an impressive crowd of over 300,000 participants, marking a notable event in Tamil Nadu’s political history.

At the rally, Vijay criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) for being overly family-oriented and for misappropriating the Dravidian identity for personal gains.

He also denounced the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its divisive political strategies.

Vijay encouraged his supporters to maintain integrity and to tackle criticisms from opponents, like Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman, with respect and factual rebuttals.

He underscored TVK’s fundamental values of equality, social justice, and secularism.

Furthermore, there are rumors regarding a possible coalition with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), with speculation that Vijay discussed obtaining the Deputy Chief Minister’s position and securing 60 Assembly seats for the upcoming 2026 elections.

In a recent executive council meeting held at the party headquarters, TVK unanimously passed 29 resolutions.

These resolutions included opposition to the BJP’s ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, criticism of the DMK for stalling a statewide caste-based census, advocacy for the abolition of NEET, and a call for a return to state-controlled admissions.

The party also demanded a reinstatement of the monthly electricity billing system.

Vijay urged TVK members to respond to criticism in a constructive and respectful manner, even on social media platforms.
