Patna, March 11 (NationPress) The chief of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), Mukesh Sahani, announced on Tuesday that his party will vie for 60 seats in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly Elections.
This decision was reached during the two-day national executive meeting held in Valmikinagar, West Champaran, which wrapped up on Tuesday.
Bihar has a total of 243 Assembly seats.
“VIP exerts influence over 150 assembly constituencies and is a crucial player in Bihar's political landscape. Our party commands a vote share of 8-10 percent and is well-positioned to impact election results,” Sahani stated.
“VIP has established itself in Bihar politics. We will contest 60 seats and significantly shape the government,” Sahani emphasized.
He further indicated that his party would leave the remaining seats open for potential alliances, hinting at possible pre-poll collaborations. As Bihar prepares for the Assembly elections, VIP's strategy sets the groundwork for political shifts and fierce electoral contests.
Mukesh Sahani outlined his party’s electoral strategy, stating that VIP would distribute tickets rather than request them. Sahani has made a bold assertion ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections, asserting that his party is in a robust position and will distribute tickets.
“VIP is poised for a serious challenge in the Bihar Assembly election. We could contend for all 243 seats, but we prefer a coalition. Alliances are crucial for us,” Sahani remarked.
“Our aim is to elect 40 MLAs, not merely 4. If we run in 60 seats, we are confident of winning 40-50,” he added.
Sahani called upon party members to commence election preparations immediately.
He also pledged his full support to alliance partners.
“Wherever our allies compete, we will assist them in securing victories,” he assured.
In the 2020 Assembly elections, VIP participated as part of the NDA, contesting 11 seats and winning 4.
During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Sahani switched allegiance and joined the Grand Alliance with Tejashwi Yadav, contending for three seats but losing all.
He actively campaigned alongside Tejashwi Yadav at that time and is now anticipating a partnership with the Grand Alliance, according to sources.
