Patna, Oct 21 (NationPress) National President of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP), Mukesh Sahani, stated on Tuesday that his party has not selected any Muslim candidates for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that they did not identify any suitable Muslim candidate to run.
“This time, the VIP is contesting 15 seats, and we have not put forth any Muslim candidates. We endeavored to include everyone, but due to the lack of a suitable candidate from the Muslim community, we opted not to issue tickets,” Sahani remarked.
He emphasized that individuals from all religions and castes are backing the party, expressing confidence that a Grand Alliance government will emerge in Bihar.
Sahani's comments came during the inauguration event of the party’s new office in Darbhanga.
While addressing party workers and supporters, he urged them to strive for the Grand Alliance’s success in all 10 Assembly constituencies within Darbhanga district, claiming that a wave of change is sweeping through the area.
“This election will be based on development issues,” Sahani stated.
In response to rumors regarding a VIP candidate from the Tarapur Assembly constituency aligning with the BJP, Sahani categorically rejected the speculation.
He clarified that the individual had submitted their nomination as an Independent candidate, not under the VIP banner.
When addressing reports of two Grand Alliance candidates contesting from the Gaura Bauram Assembly constituency, Mukesh Sahani confirmed that VIP candidate Santosh Sahani is officially running as the Grand Alliance’s representative.
He mentioned, “Santosh Sahani is contesting from the Grand Alliance. A confirmation letter has been issued by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav from the RJD office.”
