New Delhi, Feb 2 (NationPress) Self-identifying as a public ‘sevak’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the residents of Delhi that he will work diligently to resolve the challenges faced by slum dwellers and the middle class once a BJP government takes charge in the city.

Speaking at an election rally in R.K. Puram, PM Modi emphasized his track record of fulfilling promises, notably mentioning the income tax benefits outlined in the Union Budget 2025-26, aimed at increasing the disposable income of the middle class.

He criticized the AAPda government for its numerous scandals, declaring that AAP leaders would face consequences for their actions, stating, “Jinhone loota hai, unhe lotana hi padega” (The looters will have to pay back).

Discussing the Union Budget 2025-26, he described it as a commitment to delivering on Modi's Guarantee to the four pillars of a Viksit BharatGarib, Kisan, Yuva, and Nari.

“This is a Budget that caters to the aspirations of Janata Janardan,” he noted, pointing out the economy's rise from the 10th to the 5th position worldwide.

The middle class stands to save thousands of rupees as income up to Rs 12 lakh is now tax-free. “This is the largest tax relief provided to salaried individuals since Independence,” he remarked.

Historically, an individual earning Rs 12 lakh annually would have faced a tax rate of one-fourth under PM Jawaharlal Nehru's administration. Under PM Indira Gandhi, the tax burden would have been Rs 10 lakh.

Ten years ago, during the Congress era, a person earning Rs 12 lakh would have been taxed Rs 2.60 lakh. However, under the current administration, they pay no tax, he asserted.

PM Modi claimed that the BJP's corruption-free government has allocated every rupee for the advancement and welfare of the impoverished.

The administration has provided free rations and durable homes to the needy while investing in infrastructure like roads, hospitals, and flyovers, alongside promoting “Make in India”.

He remarked that with Basant Panchmi, the season is shifting, and in three days, the Basant of vikas is set to arrive in Delhi with the establishment of a BJP government.

Addressing the AAP's turmoil, he noted the disintegration of the broom's sticks, referencing the recent departure of eight AAP MLAs to the BJP. “The AAPda government has been revealed before the voters of Delhi,” he stated.

Earlier, he appealed to voters, emphasizing that the city requires a government focused on development rather than conflicts with others.

According to Modi, the AAPda government has squandered a decade by relying on outdated promises. “But now, Delhi voters will choose a BJP government,” he concluded.
