Voters Rectified Lok Sabha Errors in Maharashtra and Haryana, Reinforcing Confidence in PM Modi's Leadership: Matrize Survey

New Delhi, Dec 16 (NationPress) The charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the growing trust in his government were pivotal elements that enabled the BJP to triumph in the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections, merely six months after the Lok Sabha elections yielded disappointing results, as revealed by a poll conducted by the research agency Matrize on Monday.

The opinion poll carried out by Matrize in both states shortly after the BJP's significant victory in Maharashtra on November 23 indicated that more than 50 percent of respondents from each state acknowledged that PM Modi's popularity had surged following the BJP's acquisition of 240 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.

According to the Matrize poll, PM Modi was identified by over half of the participants as the primary reason for their support of the BJP in both states.

The poll revealed that 54 percent of voters in Maharashtra and 52 percent in Haryana had PM Modi's image in their minds while casting their votes in the Assembly elections.

The opinion poll, which surveyed a total of 76,830 participants in Maharashtra, highlighted that PM Modi's slogan “Ek Hain to Safe Hai” was the most influential. Nearly 56 percent of respondents in the state found this slogan very effective, in contrast to 25 percent who were drawn in by the slogan “Batenge to Katenge.”

In Haryana, with a sample size of 53,647, the opinion poll demonstrated that after the BJP's triumph in the Haryana Assembly elections, 52 percent of participants believed that their decision not to support the party in the Lok Sabha elections was a mistake.

Examining the campaign strategy of the Congress, the Matrize Opinion Poll revealed that voters in the Assembly elections had limited confidence in Rahul Gandhi and his party's assertions regarding the government's attempts to amend the Constitution.

Moreover, the Congress's emphasis on “Kisan, Jawan aur Pehalwan” in Haryana did not resonate with voters, as indicated by the Matrize poll.

Approximately 24 percent of Maharashtra voters reported that they did not support the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections due to confusion regarding election symbols and candidates.

Furthermore, 41 percent of voters in Maharashtra expressed that the popularity of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has seen substantial growth following the Assembly elections.
