Bhubaneswar, Feb 9 (NationPress) A woman was tragically burnt to death when her shop caught fire in the Pattamundai region of Kendrapara district, Odisha on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Kamala Sahoo, who lived in Baktarpur village.
According to local reports, Sahoo operated a betel shop at the village market, where she also sold petrol.
On that fateful Sunday morning, she opened her shop as usual and was performing Puja by lighting incense sticks when the fuel stored in plastic bottles and a jerrycan suddenly ignited.
Trapped by the rapidly spreading flames, Sahoo was unable to escape as the fire engulfed the entire shop within moments.
Emergency services, including police and fire personnel, arrived promptly to extinguish the flames.
Despite their efforts, Sahoo suffered severe burn injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
