Bengaluru, April 5 (NationPress) In a disturbing event, a young woman was waylaid and sexually harassed within the jurisdiction of the Banasawadi police station in Bengaluru.

The incident took place three days ago on Hennur Main Road, close to the Indian Petrol Bunk in Banasawadi, and has only now been reported.

According to police reports, the victim was riding her scooter from a friend's house to her own at approximately 4:30 a.m. When the area was quiet and deserted, two assailants pursued her scooter and blocked her path.

They acted inappropriately and subjected her to sexual harassment by touching her inappropriately. Upon her screams for help, bystanders intervened. However, the suspects brandished a knife at the crowd and managed to escape.

The victim has lodged a formal complaint at the Banasawadi police station. Following her statement, authorities have filed a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated a search for the assailants. They have also acquired CCTV footage related to the case.

Previously, a young woman migrant laborer from Bihar was abducted and raped while searching for food with her brother near a railway station in Bengaluru on Thursday morning. This incident was reported under the Mahadevapura police station’s jurisdiction.
