His friend was apprehended for allegedly contracting hitmen to murder him and subsequently submerging the vehicle containing his body into a reservoir to stage the incident as an accident.
Srinivas, aged 48, was discovered inside a car that had plunged into the Palair reservoir in Khammam district on February 14. Fishermen reported that the individual driving the vehicle exited and fled the scene during the mishap.
Upon retrieving the vehicle, authorities observed injuries on Srinivas's head. He was identified the following day.
