Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, Feb 22 (NationPress) The Telangana Police have unraveled the enigma surrounding the demise of writer and YouTuber Boggula Srinivas. His friend was apprehended for allegedly contracting hitmen to murder him and subsequently submerging the vehicle containing his body into a reservoir to stage the incident as an accident.
Srinivas, aged 48, was discovered inside a car that had plunged into the Palair reservoir in Khammam district on February 14. Fishermen reported that the individual driving the vehicle exited and fled the scene during the mishap.
Upon retrieving the vehicle, authorities observed injuries on Srinivas's head. He was identified the following day.
Originating from Allur village in Nandikotkur mandal of Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh, Srinivas gained notoriety in 2014 following the release of his book titled 'Pawan Kalyan Hatao-Politics Bachao'.
At the time of the book's launch, he reportedly received death threats.
Authorities initiated an inquiry after the deceased's family expressed doubts about the circumstances surrounding his death.
A breakthrough came a week later with the arrest of Venu Madhava Reddy and three hitmen.
On Sunday, the Khammam rural police shared case details with the media. Assistant Commissioner of Police Tirupati Reddy indicated that financial disputes between Srinivas and Madhava Reddy were the motive behind the murder.
Madhava Reddy contracted P. Koteswara Rao, Sheikh Abdul Hafeez, and Azmat Ali, all residents of Bhadradri Kothagudem, to execute the plan against Srinivas.
Srinivas was killed near Narketpally in Nalgonda while traveling to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
In an effort to conceal their crime and mislead investigators, the assailants pushed Srinivas's car into the Palair reservoir to simulate an accident.
According to police, Srinivas had allowed Madhava Reddy to utilize his GST account for various transactions. After receiving a notice regarding GST dues, Srinivas demanded that Madhava Reddy fulfill their cash payment agreement.
When Srinivas exerted pressure for payment, Madhava Reddy devised a plot to eliminate him and hired three assassins.
