Lucknow, March 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, was officially presented with the aerodrome licence granted by the Government of India for the Noida International Airport (NIA), according to a Tuesday announcement by an official.
A delegation representing the Noida airport conveyed to the Chief Minister that this aerodrome licence is a significant milestone towards the swift operational launch of the airport located in Jewar, as stated in their release.
With the licence now in hand, the preparations for the airport's inauguration and the commencement of commercial flight services are set to accelerate, officials informed the Chief Minister.
In a social media update, the CM Office remarked, "Today, a delegation from Noida International Airport met with Chief Minister @myogiadityanathji in Lucknow and presented the aerodrome licence issued by the Government of India."
"This licence will expedite the procedures for the airport's inauguration and the initiation of commercial flights," the statement added.
During this meeting, the delegation also updated the Chief Minister on the project's development and future phases.
Led by Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann, the delegation briefed the Chief Minister regarding the advancements of the project and its upcoming stages, as per the statement.
Officials indicated that after receiving the aerodrome licence, the final stage of regulatory approvals is currently in progress.
The airport's Aerodrome Security Programme is presently undergoing review by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. Following the security clearance, airport management will collaborate with all relevant agencies to finalize the date for the official inauguration and the start of commercial operations, the statement further detailed.
Located in Jewar of Gautam Buddha Nagar, the Noida International Airport is an ambitious greenfield project designed to connect the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh with major cities across India and globally.
This airport is being developed with cutting-edge facilities that blend Swiss precision with Indian warmth.
The airport's development is slated to occur in four phases. The first phase includes the construction of one runway and a passenger terminal with an annual capacity of around 12 million passengers. The second phase is projected to increase capacity to 30 million passengers. Subsequent expansions in the third and fourth phases aim to ramp up the total capacity to an impressive 70 million passengers per year.
