Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday, 5 May met over 200 people at the Janata Darshan organised at Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur, listening to public grievances and directing officials to ensure time-bound, impartial resolution of every complaint. The outreach is part of a regular public interface programme where citizens seek direct redressal from the Chief Minister.

Key Assurances to the Public

Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath said, "Do not worry, the government will ensure effective resolution of every problem." He instructed officials present at the event to demonstrate sensitivity towards public grievances and maintain transparency in disposal of complaints. Applications submitted by citizens were collected on the spot, with the Chief Minister issuing directions to concerned officials standing nearby.

Land Encroachment and Medical Aid

Among the issues raised, land encroachment emerged as a prominent concern. The Chief Minister directed administrative and police officials to take strict legal action against any influential person found forcibly occupying another's land. He made clear that no exception would be made on grounds of status or influence.

Several citizens also sought financial assistance for medical treatment. Adityanath directed officials to promptly prepare cost estimates for advanced medical treatment of all needy individuals, assuring that government funds would be released as soon as the estimates were received.

Morning Rituals at Gorakhnath Temple

Earlier in the morning, the Chief Minister offered prayers to Guru Gorakhnath — revered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva — at the temple, and paid his respects at the samadhi sthal of his spiritual guru, the late Mahant Avaidyanath. He also performed 'Gau sewa' at the temple premises, visiting the cowshed, showing affection to the cows, and feeding them jaggery — a routine he reportedly follows each time he stays at the Gorakhnath Temple.

A Regular Touchpoint with Citizens

The Janata Darshan is a recurring public outreach mechanism that allows citizens across Uttar Pradesh to directly approach the Chief Minister with complaints that may not have been addressed through regular administrative channels. This comes amid the state government's broader push to project accessible and responsive governance. The Chief Minister also distributed chocolates to children present at the event. All referred applications have been forwarded to concerned administrative and police officials for resolution in a time-bound manner.
