Jalaun (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 9 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a verbal assault on the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its leader Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday, accusing him of misrepresenting the legacy of India’s champions of social justice while showing sympathy towards rioters.
Speaking to a public gathering in Jalaun, the Chief Minister expressed his shock upon reading a statement made by the SP chief earlier that day.
“The SP leader perceives communalism in India’s revered saints and sees messengers of peace in those who incite riots,” Yogi remarked.
“Our double-engine government has made it clear where such individuals belong -- those who instigate riots, threaten women and traders, or align with criminals will face stringent measures,” he added.
During this visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for 305 development projects valued at over Rs 1,900 crore and provided benefits to various welfare scheme recipients.
He also conveyed Diwali greetings to the people of Jalaun, describing the new projects as “a festival of development.”
Yogi emphasized that some individuals had misunderstood the essence of the festive season, thinking they could revive past lawlessness.
“They believed that, similar to the SP era, they could instigate riots before festivals to tarnish the spirit of Hindus,” he stated.
“However, they overlooked the fact that this is a double-engine BJP government. We do not bow to rioters; instead, we compel them to submit. Before 2017, riots were commonplace before every festival. Now, festivals are celebrated with security, harmony, and respect.
CM Yogi further accused the SP of disrespecting icons of social justice and Dalit leaders.
“When the SP assumed power in 2012, it spoke of demolishing monuments dedicated to great figures who championed social justice and the upliftment of Dalits,” he remarked.
“They fostered anarchy by nurturing mafia groups in various districts, robbed youth of employment opportunities, and compromised women’s safety. Their leaders even rationalized these actions by saying, ‘They are just boys, they make mistakes.’”
The Chief Minister observed that the socialist movement, once influenced by thinkers like Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, Acharya Narendra Dev, Janeshwar Mishra, and Mohan Singh, has now devolved into a faction of thugs, professional mafias, and criminals.
Highlighting his administration’s successes, Yogi noted that over 2 crore youth have found employment through MSMEs, and an additional 60 lakh have received job guarantees through substantial investments.
He reiterated that the government will not tolerate any form of injustice or exploitation.
“If any poor individual, farmer, woman, or businessperson is harassed, the repercussions will be long-remembered,” he asserted.
Warning the SP against reigniting caste-based and communal politics, Yogi stated, “The SP has fostered an identity crisis and an environment of chaos. These individuals provoke caste conflicts and divide society. We must thwart their ulterior motives. If we allow division, we will face destruction; if we unite, we will find safety.”
