New Delhi, June 9 (NationPress) The prominent Ayushman Bharat-Jan Arogya scheme has ushered in a transformative era in the health sector over the past 11 years, as stated by Union Health Minister JP Nadda on Monday.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Nadda detailed the advancements achieved by the country across various sectors under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last decade.
“Over the past 11 years, there has been unprecedented growth in numerous domains including education, health, transportation, infrastructure, and defense,” Nadda remarked.
The Minister highlighted how the government’s exceptional initiatives, such as the Ayushman Bharat - Jan Arogya, have uplifted every segment of society.
As of May 30, more than 41.02 crore Ayushman Cards have been issued in 33 States and Union Territories.
The AB-PMJAY has become one of the world's largest publicly funded health insurance schemes, facilitating 8.59 crore hospital admissions valued at Rs 1,19,858 crore, ensuring that families do not face financial ruin while accessing secondary and tertiary care, as per an official government statement.
Moreover, the count of Jan Aushadhi Kendras surged to 16,469 as of May 30, a significant increase from just 80 in 2014, making essential medications accessible to the general populace.
“Under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, India has experienced remarkable advancements across every sector in the last 11 years. The country has evolved into the fourth largest economy globally, excelling in international diplomacy and executing significant initiatives for the upliftment of farmers, women, youth, the elderly, laborers, and business owners,” Nadda stated.
Other initiatives contributing to the nation’s growth include Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Jan Dhan, Mudra Yojana, Drone Didi, self-help groups, and self-employment schemes.
