New Delhi, May 26 (NationPress) Bengaluru is emerging as the city with the greatest optimism for hiring freshers in the global capability centre (GCC) sector. A recent report indicates that 17% of companies anticipate an increase of over 50% in hiring, showcasing a more proactive approach than other cities in 2025.
So far in 2025, the IT sector has experienced a 4% year-on-year increase in hiring compared to the previous year, according to NLB Services.
“The emphasis on entry-level talent by Indian companies reflects the changing demands of the industry, fueled by advancements in automation, cybersecurity, and cloud transformation. Organizations are not just employing freshers for immediate roles but are making strategic investments to cultivate a workforce prepared for the future,” stated Sachin Alug, CEO of NLB Services.
In terms of sector performance, IT-hardware and software have significantly increased their hiring share from 17% in 2024 to 34% in 2025. Other sectors include FMCG (16%), insurance (15%), and pharma (11%).
Fresh graduates entering the IT field can anticipate salary packages ranging from Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh per annum, depending on their skills and roles.
For example, software developers typically earn between Rs 2.8 lakh and Rs 8.2 lakh annually, while web developers can expect salaries from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 8 lakh.
Moreover, tier 2 and 3 cities are burgeoning with new prospects for freshers in both IT and non-IT sectors.
Cities like Mysuru, Gandhinagar, Visakhapatnam, Indore, Lucknow, Kochi, Jaipur, and Vijayawada are experiencing remarkable growth, largely due to local talent opting to remain in their hometowns rather than moving to costly established tech hubs.
For instance, Coimbatore, Indore, Udaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Jaipur, and Chandigarh are transforming into IT hubs, offering fresher salaries between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh, slightly exceeding those in major metro areas.
Additionally, cities such as Nashik, Salem, and Vadodara are becoming increasingly attractive for GCCs, reinforcing their significance in India's growing tech ecosystem.
Within the Indian GCC landscape, companies continue to expand, with hiring trends evolving towards focusing on young talent and diversity.
As GCCs grow globally, driven by digital transformation and automation, the demand for youthful talent is expected to surge significantly in the upcoming years, according to the report.
