The Chief Minister outlined strict enforcement procedures, asserting that any student found with a mobile phone will incur a fine of Rs 500 and have their device confiscated.
To ensure that parents consistently attend mandatory counseling sessions, the Education Department has been assigned to formulate a standard operating procedure (SOP) to manage repeated offenses.
The Chief Minister remarked, "Observations have shown that mobile phone usage during lunch breaks and school hours distracts students from their studies and personal development."
Reflecting on his own experiences as a product of a government school, he reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing educational quality.
In addition to academic reforms, CM Sukhu also emphasized the state's initiative to promote sports and sports tourism.
He announced that the government would provide job opportunities to female athletes from the state who have participated in the Asian Games. To honor the Himachal team's victory in the National Handball Championship, he declared a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister highlighted a significant increase in the daily diet allowance for student-athletes, now set at Rs 400 for state-level events and Rs 500 for national competitions.
Players traveling over 200 km for competitions will also receive air travel arrangements to enhance their comfort and performance.
During the event, the Chief Minister outlined several infrastructure objectives, including fast-tracking the completion of the indoor stadium in Ghumarwin and a local school building within the upcoming year. He also officially announced the establishment of a new girls' hostel at Morsingi.
The 69th National School Games concluded with the state team clinching a gold medal after triumphing over Rajasthan in the final, while Haryana secured third place. The tournament featured participation from 30 teams nationwide.
