New Delhi, Oct 25 (NationPress) The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has joined forces with the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to elevate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education within schools.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), finalized on Friday, aims to bolster STEM education among school students and offer professional development opportunities for educators.
“Through this partnership, KV students and teachers will engage in diverse STEM activities organized by the Office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives at IIT Delhi. This initiative will allow students to explore scientific concepts in an enjoyable and interactive manner, enabling them to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications,” stated IIT Delhi.
Moreover, faculty members and students from IIT Delhi will carry out outreach sessions in KV schools, with the goal of motivating young learners to consider careers in STEM fields.
The training will encompass the utilization of cutting-edge technological tools, advancements in STEM, and creative teaching methodologies.
“These sessions will empower KV educators with modern teaching strategies and the latest developments in STEM education to enhance the learning experience in classrooms,” the statement elaborated.
The MoU also promotes the involvement of students from KV schools in the Sci Tech Spins (STS) Lecture Series, organized by the Office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives at IIT Delhi.
STS successfully completed eight sessions at IITD this year, engaging school students (grades 9 to 12) from various institutions throughout Delhi NCR, with a special emphasis on participants from government schools, especially from KVs. Approximately 3,000 students from KVs took part in this well-received series in 2025.
The MoU further establishes a systematic feedback mechanism to evaluate the effectiveness of these programs. IIT Delhi will gather insights from students and teachers to refine and enhance the program’s framework, reflecting IITD’s ongoing commitment to improvement.
“This collaboration is a significant milestone in IIT Delhi’s mission to foster curiosity among young learners and better equip them for STEM subjects. In partnership with KV educators, this initiative aims to build on their solid foundation while addressing emerging needs in contemporary teaching approaches to further enrich classroom experiences,” concluded the statement.
