New Delhi, April 25 (NationPress) A recent report indicates that over 70% of Indians are actively seeking generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tools to enhance their productivity and communication skills. This study, conducted by Google and Kantar, surveyed more than 8,000 individuals across 18 cities in India and explored the adoption, potential, and impact of Gen AI among the population.

The findings reveal significant opportunities for Gen AI adoption in India, highlighting a strong desire among individuals to leverage these tools for personal and professional growth. Although enthusiasm for AI is palpable, many remain unfamiliar with its capabilities: 60% of respondents reported a lack of knowledge about AI, while merely 31% have experimented with any generative AI tools.

Moreover, the report underscores a robust aspiration among Indians to enhance their skills, with 72% aiming to improve productivity, 77% to boost creativity, and 73% to communicate more effectively in their everyday lives.

A substantial 76% of participants utilize AI to save time on routine activities such as travel planning or budget management, and 84% engage with AI to foster creativity in daily tasks like assisting children with homework or experimenting with new recipes.

The report also highlights the impact of Google’s AI assistant Gemini on users’ confidence and capabilities. Among Gemini users, 92% reported increased confidence, 93% noted enhanced productivity, and 85% claimed it stimulates their creativity.
