New Delhi, Dec 4 (NationPress) Approximately 30 lakh beneficiaries have signed up for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, and as of December 1, 23.09 lakh individuals have successfully completed training, as shared in Parliament on Thursday.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, initiated on September 17, 2023, aims to deliver comprehensive support to artisans and craftsmen engaged in 18 traditional trades that rely on manual skills and tools.

In response to a Lok Sabha inquiry, Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, reported that to date, over 6.8 lakh artisans/craftspeople have received digital payment incentives totaling Rs 22 crore.

Under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, memorandums of understanding have been established with India Post Payment Bank and various private organizations to create QR codes, facilitating digital payment incentives for the beneficiaries.

The minister further highlighted that online marketing assistance is being provided to PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries through multiple e-commerce platforms such as ONDC, promoting their products for sale in both domestic and international markets.

Moreover, more than 30,000 Vishwakarma beneficiaries have successfully registered on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), improving their access to institutional buyers.

The Champions portal serves as a platform for addressing grievances and offering remedies. Currently, the portal provides information in 23 languages, including English and 22 regional languages, through support from 69 state control rooms nationwide.

As of November 11, the portal has processed 159,577 grievances, with a response rate of 99.24 percent (158,372 responses).

Numerous Public Sector Banks, Private Sector banks, Regional Rural Banks, and State Financial Corporations have designated nodal officers for the Champions portal to assist in resolving queries.
