Mumbai, Feb 16 (NationPress) Highlighting the government’s dedication to providing top-notch healthcare services to insured workers, Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, has directed officials to focus on efficient medical service delivery and hasten the completion of hospital renovation and construction projects.

During his visit to ESIC Hospital in Andheri and the Directorate General, Factory Advice and Labour Institutes (DGFASLI), Mandaviya evaluated various facilities. This included registration counters, the online registration service under the Dhanwantri module, the dental unit, and the internal medicine department.

He engaged with patients and staff to gather insights on their experiences and feedback regarding the services offered.

Additionally, the Union Minister toured DGFASLI, where he received a briefing about the institution’s crucial role in occupational safety and health (OSH), regulatory frameworks, and ongoing training initiatives. He explored several infrastructure facilities, such as training rooms, conference halls, and digital resource centers.

Mandaviya displayed great interest in the laboratories maintained by DGFASLI, especially those concentrating on industrial hygiene and personal protective equipment (PPE) testing. He emphasized the need to bolster OSH frameworks and improve technical expertise in this field.

To enhance efficiency and transparency, he instructed officials to hasten the digitization of processes, including inspections, ensure proper maintenance of laboratories, and prioritize transparency in regulatory activities.

In the meantime, the payroll data from the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) indicates that 16.07 lakh new employees were registered in November last year, with over 47 percent being young workers aged 25 and below, signaling a positive trend in job creation within the economy.

Moreover, 20,212 new establishments have been incorporated into the ESI Scheme in November 2024, thereby providing social security to more workers, as stated by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Year-on-year analysis reveals a 0.97 percent increase in net registrations compared to November 2023.
