New Delhi, April 16 (NationPress) Union Minister of Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is set to launch the newly constructed 220-bedded Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital located in Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand, tomorrow.
Occupying a vast area of 7.9 acres, the hospital complex comprises a basement, ground floor, and four upper levels.
According to the Labour Ministry, “The four-storey structure boasts three modern operation theatres (OTs) with an additional OT provision. It encompasses 34 wards, six isolation units, 40 OPD rooms, and ample space for medical professionals, administrative staff, and support teams.”
This advanced facility signifies a pivotal advancement in enhancing healthcare delivery through the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) scheme in Jharkhand.
The modernized establishment is projected to serve over 500,000 Insured Persons (IPs) and their families, providing enhanced infrastructure and a wider array of medical services,” stated the Ministry.
The construction of the new building cost approximately ₹99.06 crore and spans an area of 17,559 sq meters.
ESIC authorized the development of this new hospital in June 2018. Additionally, the Corporation sanctioned the creation of a medical college featuring 50 MBBS seats in October 2024, with operations commencing soon.
The hospital will include vital departments such as general medicine, surgery, gynaecology, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and dental care, alongside various support services. It will cater to both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) care, addressing the medical needs of ESI beneficiaries effectively.
The upgraded hospital will now provide specialty and super-specialty treatments, significantly enhancing access to advanced healthcare services for residents of Ranchi and nearby districts.
Founded in 1987, the ESIC Hospital in Namkum was established with the main goal of delivering accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to insured workers and their families.
