New Delhi, Sep 26 (NationPress) - On Friday, social media giant Snapchat revealed its impressive growth within India’s creator ecosystem, disclosing that total viewing time on the platform has doubled over the last two years. This surge reflects its profound appeal to the youth demographic.
Driving this remarkable performance is a notable increase in content interaction, a rapid influx of new creators, and a burgeoning community of Snap stars, who are recognized as the platform’s top creators.
Reportedly, the count of official Snap stars in India has surged by 1.5 times in the last two years, indicating a growing appetite for genuine creator-driven content.
Moreover, content submitted to Spotlight by creators and publishers has experienced over 4 times year-on-year expansion, solidifying Snapchat’s status as a vibrant center for creativity and storytelling.
This announcement coincides with the launch of Snapchat Creator Connect, a multi-city initiative aimed at empowering Gen Z storytellers.
Highlighting the crucial role of creators from North India, Delhi was the latest location to showcase strong adoption, reflecting Snapchat’s expanding presence throughout India.
“India has been pivotal to our global creator strategy, not only as one of our fastest-growing markets but also as a significant contributor to global content creation on Snapchat. These achievements stem from our targeted and ongoing efforts to cultivate an inclusive and flourishing creator ecosystem,” stated Saket Jha Saurabh, Director and Head of Content and AR Partnerships at Snap Inc.
“That’s why we’ve committed to initiatives like ‘Snapchat Creator Connect,’ reaching creators beyond metropolitan areas and into the heart of India. We aim to ensure that diverse talents have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for growth,” Saurabh added.
During 'Creator Connect' in Delhi, prominent creators, Snap stars, and industry leaders convened. The event introduced Snap School, a mentorship and educational program designed to enhance creators’ storytelling skills and maximize their growth potential on the platform. Opportunities for monetization were also a key topic of discussion.
