New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) Zohos Chief Scientist and Co-founder, Sridhar Vembu, expressed his pride in the company’s engineers following the announcement from Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw that he will transition to Zoho's indigenous platform for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. In response to Vaishnaw’s post on X, Vembu stated, “Thank you, Sir. This serves as a significant morale booster for our engineers who have dedicated over two decades to developing our product suite. We are committed to making you proud and uplifting our nation. Jai Hind.”

Previously, Vaishnaw noted his decision to join Zoho as a way to support the Swadeshi initiative. “I am transitioning to Zoho -- our own Swadeshi platform for documents, spreadsheets & presentations. I encourage everyone to align with PM Narendra Modi’s call for Swadeshi by embracing indigenous products & services,” he shared.

This announcement aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s appeal to citizens to purchase Made-in-India products during the festive season as part of the vision for ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.

PM Modi emphasized that every local purchase supports families, artisans, and workers, while also generating job opportunities for youth.

“Whenever you buy a product made by our artisans, workers, and industries, you are contributing to families’ livelihoods and creating job opportunities for our youth,” said the Prime Minister, who also encouraged traders to promote local goods.

Additionally, the Prime Minister connected this appeal to the recent “GST Bachat Utsav”, introduced under Next Generation GST reforms, aimed at lowering household expenses, streamlining business processes, and fostering growth for farmers, women, traders, MSMEs, and others.

Zoho stands out as a software giant with a robust commitment to developing indigenous technology solutions, often cited as a testament to India’s ability to create globally competitive products.

Vaishnaw’s choice to adopt Zoho highlights the government’s broader initiative for self-reliance and increased utilization of local platforms.
