New Delhi, April 26 (NationPress) Information technology services within the Supreme Court of India faced interruptions for several hours due to a technical issue in the National Government Cloud (NGC) infrastructure. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the court’s IT department and technical support personnel, the impacted services were progressively restored on Saturday.

The outage affected various crucial digital services, such as the Supreme Court's official website, the e-filing portal, and the SCR (Supreme Court Reports) and DigiSCR portals, which are vital for accessing court judgments and records.

In an official announcement, the Supreme Court recognized the disruption and linked it to problems with the NGC platform, which supports many of its digital services.

The court confirmed that all relevant technical teams were promptly engaged to diagnose and resolve the issue.

"The Supreme Court regrets the inconvenience caused by the technical issue and urges all stakeholders to remain patient and cooperate during this time," stated the notice.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the court’s IT department and technical support staff, the affected services were gradually restored and are now operating normally.

The court will continue to closely monitor the systems to avert similar disruptions in the future.

The Supreme Court has faced multiple instances of technical failures in the past that have hindered its IT services and impacted court operations, including online hearings and e-services. These failures have led to delays, cancellations, and interruptions in judicial processes.

In one instance in 2023, various computer applications and IT services were disrupted in the Supreme Court due to a sudden failure of one of the servers in the data center.

In 2022, similar technical issues hampered the Supreme Court's operations, significantly slowing down the work of nearly all benches. The Chief Justice of India had expressed frustration over this matter and had to postpone several significant cases.
