New Delhi, March 6 (NationPress) YouTube, owned by Google, announced on Thursday that its Music and Premium services have surpassed 125 million subscribers globally, which includes trial users. The streaming service emphasized its commitment to offering subscribers various ways to enjoy their favorite content.
The platform is continuously rolling out new features to enhance user experience across multiple devices.
In addition to enriching user experiences, YouTube Music and Premium have also opened up new revenue streams for content creators and partners.
Last year, YouTube disclosed that more than one in four creators in its ad-sharing program are earning revenue through its short-form video service, Shorts.
Since initiating revenue sharing for Shorts last year, over 25 percent of channels in the YouTube Partner Programme (YPP) are now generating income via this channel.
Moreover, over 80 percent of creators who joined the YPP through Shorts eligibility are also capitalizing on other monetization options.
These monetization features encompass long-form advertising, fan funding, YouTube Premium, BrandConnect, shopping, and more.
“This indicates that Shorts is paving the way for creators to earn through additional avenues on the platform, leading to tangible benefits,” the company stated.
As per reports, YouTube has disbursed $70 billion to creators, artists, and media companies over the past three years.
The streaming platform revealed that Shorts receives an average of over 70 billion views per day, and with new monetization avenues emerging, the Shorts community is thriving, infusing fresh creativity and voices into the platform.
The increase in subscriptions highlights the rising demand for ad-free viewing, offline downloads, and exclusive content, as mentioned in an official statement.
Over the years, YouTube has broadened its services to meet a global audience, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for both music enthusiasts and premium content consumers.
