Canberra, Oct 29 (NationPress) Australia won the toss and opted to field first against India in the inaugural T20I match at the Manuka Oval. The BCCI has announced that Nitish Kumar Reddy will miss the first three T20 Internationals due to a left quadriceps injury, and he is now experiencing neck spasms, which have hindered his recovery and mobility.
Australia's captain, Mitchell Marsh, stated, "We prefer to bowl first. The pitch looks promising, as it usually does here. It's a fantastic ground with an enthusiastic crowd, and we’re eager for this challenge. Both teams have a wealth of talent. They are currently the top-ranked side in the world, and we are prepared for a fierce contest."
He further added, "All teams globally are gearing up for the World Cup. We are thrilled to measure ourselves against the best in the world. Our squad consists of 11 players, including several strong batters, bowlers, and all-rounders."
On the other hand, India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, expressed, "We intended to bat first as it appears to be a good wicket. Our analyst has indicated that few matches have been played at this venue, and the pitch tends to slow down in the second innings. We were aiming to bat first."
He also mentioned, "We arrived 3-4 days before the match. Although it was chilly recently, the conditions look great today. We anticipate a thrilling game ahead. I can confirm who will be missing: Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Rinku Singh, and Nitish Kumar Reddy."
