New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) On National Unity Day, a diverse group from the Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) gathered to offer special prayers at various religious sites in Srinagar, all aimed at invoking peace, prosperity, and unity for India under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a groundbreaking event, the IMF organized a multi-faith unity march along the picturesque banks of Dal Lake as part of the ‘Sardar@150 Unity March’, a nationwide observance honoring the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary.

This unique march saw participation from individuals representing various faiths including Hindus, Kashmiri Pandits, Shia and Sunni Muslims, Sufis, Sikhs, Christians, and Buddhists. Dignitaries present included Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and IMF Convener Satnam Singh Sandhu, along with IMF Co-Founder Prof Himani Sood, who also took part in multi-faith prayers at sites such as Shankaracharya Mandir, Dastageer Sahib Shrine, Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi Guru Hargobind Sahib, and Saint Luke's Church.

The prayers commenced at Shankaracharya Mandir, the oldest shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Kashmir valley, established in the 9th century by the esteemed philosopher Adi Shankaracharya. At Dastgeer Sahib Shrine, the IMF Convener offered a Chadar before the prayers.

At the Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi Guru Hargobind Sahib, a significant Sikh pilgrimage site in Kashmir, the multi-faith group presented a Rumala Sahib prior to the Ardas (prayer) for Chardikala (well-being), harmony, and unity in the nation.

Prayers were also offered at Saint Luke's Church, one of Kashmir's oldest churches, where candles were lit in hopes for guiding India toward peace, prosperity, and unity.

Following the prayers, the IMF conducted a Multi-Faith Unity March at Dal Lake to honor the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and to promote the message of unity and communal harmony.

MP Satnam Singh Sandhu and other multi-faith leaders took a collective oath of unity, pledging to safeguard the nation's unity, integrity, and security.

On this momentous occasion, representatives from all communities highlighted that PM Modi’s mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas" is fostering inclusive development for all religions. They noted that in the six years since the abrogation of Article 370, the region of Jammu and Kashmir has experienced swift progress.

Participants expressed that PM Modi has truly honored Sardar Patel's vision of ‘One Country, One Flag, One Constitution’ through the abrogation of Article 370, rejuvenating the spirit of humanity, democracy (Jamhooriyat), and Kashmiriyat in the valleys.

They asserted that under PM Modi's leadership, the perception of Kashmir has transformed, resulting in a significant rise in tourism over the past six years.

Residents of Srinagar remarked that the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, aimed at dividing the nation along religious lines, was met with decisive action under PM Modi, who led Operation Sindoor to combat terror.

During the event, Rajya Sabha MP and IMF Convener Satnam Singh Sandhu emphasized, “Sardar Patel’s tireless work united our nation, but he lacked the recognition he deserved. It wasn't until 2014, 67 years post-Independence, that Prime Minister Modi honored his legacy by declaring his birth anniversary as National Unity Day. The true essence of Sardar Patel’s vision of One Nation, One Constitution was realized by every Indian following the revocation of Article 370 under PM Modi's strong leadership. Today, we gather to celebrate Sardar Patel’s legacy and spread the message of unity and peace globally.”

“The abrogation of Article 370 has initiated a new era of peace, progress, and prosperity in Kashmir. Through his mantra of Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, PM Modi has ensured the inclusive development and empowerment of all communities. In this new India under PM Modi’s guidance, all communities coexist in harmony,” he added.

Actress Preeti Sapru remarked, "As our Prime Minister advocates, 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas', this Unity March conveys a message to the world that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, we are united. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians stand with the Prime Minister today.”

Actor Mukesh Rishi stated, “We are moving forward towards self-reliance with a 'Swadeshi' spirit, embodying 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas' (Together, for everyone's growth, with everyone's trust, and everyone's efforts).”
