Haldwani (Uttarakhand), Feb 14 (NationPress) The 38th National Games of India, conducted at multiple venues in Uttarakhand, reached a magnificent conclusion with an impressive closing ceremony on Friday. This remarkable event, which showcased extraordinary athletic prowess, commitment, and sportsmanship, commenced on January 28 and featured competitions at various locations throughout the state.

The closing ceremony revealed that Haryana took the second runner-up spot, amassing 48 gold, 47 silver, and 58 bronze medals. Maharashtra secured the first runner-up title, having earned 54 gold, 71 silver, and 76 bronze medals. The Services Sports Control Board triumphed as the overall champions, showcasing their dominance with 68 gold, 26 silver, and 27 bronze medals.

During the closing ceremony, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Labour and Employment, addressed the gathering, applauding the outstanding performances and the competitive spirit displayed.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished guests, including Amit Shah, the Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation; Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand; Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya; P.T. Dr. Mandaviya commenced his speech by expressing sincere appreciation to Uttarakhand for efficiently hosting the 38th National Games. “Uttarakhand is already revered as ‘Devbhoomi,’ but after hosting these Games, it has now earned the title of ‘Khel Bhoomi’,” he remarked.

He commended the leadership of Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, for meticulously overseeing every detail, facilitating a seamless event. “The successful execution of these Games is a testament to Uttarakhand’s capabilities and dedication,” he stated.

In discussing the event's broader significance, Dr. Mandaviya articulated his vision for India’s sports future. “As we bid farewell to the 38th National Games, it signifies the onset of an exciting journey.
